Postage and delivery

Postage charges and service - UK only

Orders are sent out by ParcelForce 24 hour service (or other nominated carrier) unless the weight is less than 2 Kg in which case they will be sent by Royal Mail contract letter post. This service generally takes between 2-4 days. Due to the number of products Lighthouse manufacture, it is not possible to keep them all in stock, please allow up to 14 days for dispatch, you'll receive an email once shipped.

We charge a flat rate £3.95, regardless of which service we use, up to an order value of £60.00. Orders with a value higher than £60.00 are sent post free. Addresses listed as Scottish Highlands & Islands, Isle of Man, Scilly Isles, and Northern Ireland, the cost per order is £10.00 with no post free advantage. If you are ordering what you consider to be a light item, i.e under 2kg, please contact us on 01722 412100 before placing your order - we will be able to send it at normal rate (£3.95), but the order will have to be taken over the phone.

When filling in your address details at the payment stage, please note that you will be asked to enter the region where you live, rather than your county. This is so that the correct postage charge, if any, is allocated to your order.

Processing of orders

Credit and Debit cards are debited before items are sent by Dauwalders. All prices include sales taxes (where applicable) unless otherwise stated.

Every purchase you make shall be deemed performed in the United Kingdom. UK law shall govern every aspect of contractual agreement concerning purchases made from this web site. Dauwalders aim to arrange shipment of all in stock items within 1 – 2 working days of receiving your order. Your order may be delayed if the item is not in stock. We will inform you if an item is out of stock and advise you within 7 days of your order. You may cancel your order at this stage by emailing us at

Overseas orders

Please note that, via the website, we are only able to despatch orders to a UK address. If you are ordering from outside the UK, please contact us (using the contact page) before proceeding with your order so that we can quote postage costs.

Although we now have fixed rates for parcels sent overseas, items sent under 2 Kilo in weight can be sent by Royal Mail small packets signed for service which attracts a considerably reduced charge. If you do not want to pay the additional fee for the signed for service, goods are sent at your risk.

Returns and refund policy

Please note that you will be responsible for the costs of returning the goods to us unless we delivered the item to you in error or the item is faulty. We do not collect goods.

Dauwalders advise for your own protection to retain a proof of postage in case the goods are damaged or lost in transit. Dauwalders requests that goods should be returned in their original sealed packaging where possible. Goods must be unused, and unsoiled and in re-saleable condition although we do accept the customers right to inspect. Dauwalders is entitled to make a charge for damaged or missing items and this may affect the total amount credited to you.

The consumer protection (distance selling) regulations require that the consumer will provide written notice of a cancellation within 7 working days. The 7 working days start from the day after the day the consumer receives the goods.

Dauwalders retains the right to levy a charge on cancelled orders to cover delivery and handling costs. (This applies to orders which have been dispatched before notification by you).

Once Dauwalders receives notification from you that you wish to withdraw from the contract (in accordance with these terms) any sum debited to Dauwalders from your credit card in relation to your order will be re-credited to that credit card account as soon as possible and in any event within 30 days of your order less any delivery or admin charges.
